Child Base seeks to implement this policy by providing and maintaining places of work, equipment and learning environments which are safe, with controlled risks to health, by providing suitable arrangements for the welfare of employees and others. Necessary information, training and supervision will be provided to ensure the implementation of this policy and to maintain safe, creative learning environments.

All staff members will observe health and safety requirements throughout the company's premises and in all work activities. Staff members must do everything that is reasonably practicable to avoid or reduce health and safety risks.

Child Base seeks to ensure that, through the implementation of the Health and Safety Manual, no child registered with the Nursery, member of staff, member of the public or other visitor to the premises is put at any unnecessary risk to their health and safety.

The Company's Health and Safety Manual will be reviewed annually and will be updated as often as is necessary, to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and good practice. Expert advice will be sought when necessary in all aspects of health and safety.

Mandatory Training for Child Base Staff

Child protection and safety are of major importance to Child Base and regular training and site visits take place to ensure that safety standards are maintained.

All Child Base staff are cleared by the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) and full references are received before members of staff are employed.

Risk assessment forms are completed for every aspect of health and safety within the nursery along with a Safety Policy showing how risks are minimised. Risk assessment forms are also completed before any activity which involves taking children outside the nursery setting, including outdoor play areas.
